David was born in Liverpool and studied Fine Art at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne. Having worked in secondary, further and higher education as an art lecturer and Director of Faculty he now works as an artist in Ditchling, Sussex.
He is increasingly spending time in Palombara-Sabina, near Rome, Lazio, Italy where the family is slowly restoring a small olive grove and starting to produce high quality extra virgin olive oil.
David’s recent work, drawings, prints and sculptures is in response to the surrounding Lazio landscape, buildings and his continuing obsessions with repetition and minimalism.
He is married to the Architect, Sally Williams, who specialises in residential eco-houses. Every May he curates the Blue Shed Studio as part of the Brighton Festival Artists Open Houses to showcase the work of local makers and invited artists.
David is also a Trustee of Ditchling Museum of Art + Craft.
